研究方向

Stefan Petkov specializes in philosophy of biology and general philosophy of science. His focus is on theories of scientific explanation and argues in favor of the the unificationist model of explanation as a common framework of explanations in non-law based scientific disciplines such as evolutionary theory and ecology. His current research interest is on contradictions in science with focus on applying models from paraconsistent logic to the analyses of the progress of evolving research programs.

Stefan Petkov has also published on history of evolutionary theory and philosophy of language, arguing for the view that metaphors play a substantive role in theory formation.

斯蒂芬.佩特克夫的研究侧重于生物学哲学和一般意义上的哲学科学。他写了大量关于科学解释的文章。他表示支持作为一个公共解释框架的在以非规律为基础的学科中，比如演化论和生态学中的非统一模型。他目前的研究重点是科学中的矛盾并且从次协调的逻辑出发关注应用模型，从而分析演化研究纲领的过程。
