According to content externalism, the content of most of our thoughts is at least partly determined by the physical and/or social environments. There would naturally arises a question, even though it hasn’t yet been considered, namely, what if the two kinds of environments don’t coordinate with each other? That is, what if the content of a thought when determined partly by the physical environment is different from the content of the thought when determined partly by the social environment? In this talk, I would describe a situation where the physical and social environments of an agent don't coordinate with each other and discuss what would happen to the content of thoughts of this agent.
